The true "Queen" of the music boxes, the changer was the prequil to the modern juke box.  Fill the rack with 12 discs, wind it up, and watch the mechanism lift a disc up onto the bedplate; play it; lower it back into the rack - then the carriage will advance to the next disc, and repeat the cycle.  When the last disc is reached, the carriage movement will automatically reverse direction and play the discs over again!  You can select which tune you want to hear with the dial on the side. This is a one-family owned music box, since the day it left the factory.  Care was taken to keep the finish clean and glowing.  While the original finish shows its age, there is no dirt or 'dark look' to the golden oak.  It is a 'home' model, not a coin operated machine. The mechanism works flawlessly and does not 'stutter' when raising/lowering the discs...even when wound only a little!  The sound is full and rich, just the way a great Changer should sound.  The top comb has had one tooth replaced, but you can't see it.  It retains all it's original paint, with a thin layer of dust accumulated over the past 100+years.  It has its original picture on the back-board and all the little tags inside. It also has the original door and drawer locks with original keys! The case is lovely golden oak, much harder to find that mahogany. The back sound board is the most desirable, a piano soundboard, which projects the best sound. The original crest on top was evidently dropped at some time (probably during moving) and has some damage and two glued-together breaks. REGINA 20 3/4" The best of the 20 3/4" Reginas....the short bedplate, double comb, gives the full, well-rounded sound of superb bass and sophisticated treble notes! The case is spectacular!  Notice the fantasitc figuring on the mahogany veneer!  The raised "cupola" lid allows the sound to come out full and clear, without muting, when the lid is down. The disc arrangements of the discs in this size Regina are said to be the best!  I agree! SOLD   Stella 15 1/2" - Original Base Cabinet A Stella 15 1/2" Single Comb one-owner box with the original base cabinet!  Base cabinets are so hard to find...especially in such a lovely design!  The base cabinet is also large enough to fit 17" Stella discs and 18 1/2" Mira discs. The mechanism is unrestored and playing perfectly!  It has a good, rich sound. The case is mahogany and has its original finish.  It looks fine now, but would look fantastic if cleaned/rubbed out a little. The base cabinet has the original finish also.  There is a little veneer lifting on the front of the door; the feet have some 'chips' out of the 'toes; there is one damage to the right front corner.  I can send pictures if you want to see these items. This is an excellent opportunity to get a great sounding disc box WITH a base cabinet at a very reasonable price! Price $4500.00 with 15 discs   13 1/8" KALLIOPE DISC BOXw/10 BELLS! Music boxes with bells are very hard to find...especially the Disc Boxes.  This lovely cased Kalliope has 10 bells which play accompanyment to the traditional music!  The bells can be turned on/off at will.  Typical of the Kalliope boxes, the sound is larger than the size! I have about 8 discs and reproduction discs are available. The box is unrestored but working fine!  Cabinet is in excellent condition, with quarter matched veneered lid and the name KALLIOPE 'carved' on the inside of the lid. SOLD 13 1/8" KALLIOPE w/10 Bells Kalliope Bell Box Movement Outside of Kalliope Case 15 1/2" Regina Double Comb 15 1/2" Regina Double Comb - Carved Case A truly lovely long bedplate, double comb Regina with detailed carved moldings all around! Full Regina sound, with that rich, deep bass!  Red Mahogany case. Restored recently.  Comes with 20 discs! SOLD 15 1/2" Reginaphone Oak Serpentine 15 1/2" Reginaphone Double Comb, Short Bedplate At the end of the music box era, when the phonograph became popular, Regina combined their musical movement with that of a phonograph movement.  It was their last effort to 'stay in the market.'  Eventually the phonograph companies won the battle.  This machine has the original bracket to mount the tone arm and horn, both those removeable parts are missing (which is not unusual).  Most people do not use the phono attachments very much anyway, preferring the original sound of the pure music box!  The movement has a speed control. This box is unrestored, but with all the rich, full sound you'd expect in a SHORT BEDPLATE, double comb Regina.  The case is oak serpentine and in excellent condition.  The interior of the base has been painted black.
